What is it that you do as a Business Development Manager?

H&S Group has been the perfect logistic service provider for tailor-made logistic solutions since 1946. Our aim is to relieve our customers of their logistic burdens. As Europe's largest intermodal logistic service provider, we organise, process and transport liquid foodstuff in bulk – we make your food supply chain work.

At this moment we are hiring a Business Development Manager. The challenge in this role is to take up the business and give it growth in line with the ambitious planning for the coming years in volume and margin. Together with a professional and dedicated team you take decisions on the tactical and strategic direction of this business.

Some of your responsibilitie are:

  • managing the further growth by setting out and implementing business development strategies;
  • participate in developing new logistic concepts and implement these in line with the organizational standards;
  • initiating business development and using the broadest network for acquisition of new customer relations;
  • focus on monitoring the (commercial) strategy, de personal and unit targets and adopt and improve where necessary;
  • together with the sales team and unit management secure the cultural attitude and to be a role model for the organization in West & Central East Europe, both internal and externally.

Job requirements

Our new colleague:
has a BSc or MSc degree in management studies. Your English is fluent, and good knowledge of the Dutch and one Eastern European language is a pré. You have at least 5-10 years relevant experience within the food bulk sector and/or the transport & logistics sector. Also you are experienced within the business development across a matrix organization within different countries.

Next to that:

  • you have clear commercial leadership skills in a professional environment within an international oriented company;
  • you are a strong connector with demonstrable track record in relevant networks;
  • you have great sales skills in closing deals and winning new customers for a long standing relationship to track and trace on;
  • you are guiding direct and indirect team members in a sales driven attitude by winning, closing and implementing deals;
  • you have knowledge of conceptual selling (Logistic concepts, 4PL, Control Tower);
